Kendall Turned 5!

Kendall had a big birthday this past fall, turning 5 years old!  This has really been a year of growing up for her!  She has been thrilled to be in school this year and is learning more and more every day. It's also been nice for her to have more opportunities to build friendships and interact with other kids and learn through centers!
This year for her birthday, we had a party at home with friends.  It was beautiful weather, so the kids got to play inside and jump on the trampoline outside as well!

Kendall also got to be Star of the Week at school that week, so Daddy and I had a chance to go in and have lunch with her.

Here are some things that we love about our sweet Kendall:
Has the best, most cheerful smile in the planet!
Full of life.
Definitely my most affectionate child.  Loves to hug, kiss and cuddle.
Keeps up with her older sisters!
Says cute things like "upside backwards", but rarely says "tomorrow" - instead she says "the next day"

Kendall's favorite things:
*Playdates with Claire and Connor
*Best Friends:  Claire and Bella
*Favorite Book:  Princesses and Fairies
*Favorite Show:  Paw Patrol and Little Charmers
*Favorite Food:  Chicken Nuggets and Tator Tots
*Favorite Colors:  Pink and Purple

Highlights from Fall 2014

Well, it seems I can't hardly keep up with blogging much at all these days, so we'll have to settle for pictures and quick comments from the entire fall.

Of course, City High Volleyball is a big part of it!

Jaclyn had her first year of playing volleyball for Heritage!  She especially enjoyed setting!

Don't forget Halloween!

Secret Keeper Girl!

Ashlyn got to play her ukulele along with the school choir for the Veteran's Day concert.  She did a great job and had a blast!

Phew!  Just a few of the highlights of a very busy fall!

Kendall's First Day of School!!

Kendall had a delightful first few days of school last week!  All the girls are back at Heritage Christian this year and now Kendall gets to go too!  She is going M,W,F and loving every minute of it.  Bittersweet for Mom, of course.  It's nice to have everyone learning at a school I trust while I can move forward with my own career endeavors, but I can't help but think about what they're doing throughout the day.  And I loved picking them all up this week and hearing great reports about how things are going.  Such a blessing and hopefully it'll stay that way!
Here are a few pictures of the great first week of school:
Jaclyn is in 5th grade,
Ashlyn is in 3rd grade,
Kendall is in Pre-Kindergarten!

Coconut Caves!

Well, they're actually the Maquoketa Caves, but Kendall started saying 'coconut' and it kinda stuck.  We had a chance to take a quick visit to them this week, and it was really fun!  The girls loved exploring the caves, and it was just the right level for our family...a little bit of a challenge for them, but overall very safe!  We enjoyed the trails and the sights!
