A Day at the Fair

We spent the morning at the Johnson County Fair today, so I thought I'd share a few pics with you all. I don't think my girls are the farm type...they weren't that impressed with the animals, but it was still fun! (In case you're wondering, Jaclyn's saying "Moo" in this picture.)

We ended the morning by jumping in the bounce house. I think they liked this part the best! Jump, jump, jump!

This is Jaclyn's 'Honolulu' shirt that Grandma gave her. She loves this shirt, but the funny thing about it is that she calls it her 'Hallelujah' shirt!
Some other funny things she says:
movie is 'moonie'
trumpet is 'frumpet'
Horton Hears a Who (the movie) is 'Hooton heys a who'
and
the letter W is 'bubble-u'
ear infection is often 'ear collection'
I don't really feel the need to correct her on these things just yet...

Trying to Slow Down

Life has been crazy! I would not be accurately recording our current situation without telling how busy things have been for me lately. I accepted the role of MOPS coordinator earlier this Spring for one of our groups, and what was supposed to be a pretty manageable job has turned into something quite overwhelming at times.
I was to be one of two coordinators, but because of the flood, my counterpart has had to step down. So, I'm currently in the middle of trying to fill that position and some others. It's been interesting though, to see God at work. The more I'm in this position, I see that changes need to take place, and my only hope is that God is going to use me for the betterment of the group. I just hope I don't mess things up! One verse that I am clinging to these days is Ephesians 3:20...
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church..."
So, Craig is gone at a volleyball camp this week, MOPS was taken care of for the moment, and I got a chance to just be at home with the girls. What better way to spend an evening than outside with a camera! Now, if I could only get them to stay still!

Family Fun on the 4th!

We had a great 4th of July weekend with my family in Kansas City! It started with us picking up my sister's kids in Des Moines (they were staying with their other cousins). Here's all the kids in the van...Jaclyn and Ashlyn loved having some company on the long trip!
We celebrated the 4th at my sister's house with all of our family. Of course, we tried to get a cool picture of all 9 grandkids, but we'll settle for this. And...we'll try again next year!



On the 5th, we took all the kids to Kaleidascope at Crown Center. It's a free place, funded by Hallmark, where all the kids can do cool art projects. The place was so brightly colored and fun...perfect for kids.


You can't tell from the pictures below, but here the girls are in a glow-in-the- dark room. It's lit with black-lights, so all the paints glow!
