Here are some updated pictures of our baby girl, who is now 26 months old! Ashlyn is a joy to have, very cute and expressive. When she sees someone for the first time that day, she'll run up to them and just bounce for joy in front of them, signaling her excitement. She's also currently acting out one of the songs from a Strawberry Shortcake movie, where SS is pretending to be Cinderella and is dancing with the prince. So, Ashlyn will pick up a cup, doll, spoon, anything she can think of and "dance" with it. It's very cute.
However, my baby girl is a little delayed in her speech. She's saying a lot of words, and telling me a lot, it's just not very easy to understand. So, fortunately I took her to be evaluated at the local AEA (Area Education Agency) and they found fluid in her ears and some minor hearing loss. The ENT waited a little while to see if the fluid would go away, but it hasn't, so Ashlyn is getting tubes put in her ears tomorrow. I am so glad that we are going to fix the problem, so that she can start hearing correctly and can then learn to speak correctly. Praise God that we found the problem before she got any older and ended up with much more of a speech problem! I am anxious to see how much she improves after tomorrow (hopefully her sleep will improve too!). Please pray for a smooth surgery and no problems with the anesthesia.
